I was once paid N3,000 for 11 scenes – Actor Adewale Alebiosu

The notion that actors receive fair pay for their parts in movies has been disproven by well-known Yoruba actor Adewale Alebiosu.

His comment came in reaction to an Instagram video posted by actress Jaiye Kuti, in which she criticized the practice of seasoned actresses beseeching fans for money.

Older colleagues were accused of neglecting to make plans for the future when they were much younger by Kuti, who advised them not to damage the reputation of the Yoruba cinema industry.

Alebiosu responded to the actress in a popular internet video, calling the charge “misplaced,” noting that performers are occasionally paid too little.

He provided anecdotal evidence to support his assertion.

I only received N3,000 for 11 sequences. I got on the bus and bawled hysterically till I got home,” he recalled.
Only a few days remained till Christmas, and although he had anticipated using the role’s pay to support his family, things had worked out differently for him.
