Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, also known as Mr. Jollof in Nigeria, has admitted that the party in power, the All Progressives Congress, APC, “used and dumped” him.
The Internet sensation from Warri claimed he was an ardent supporter of President Bola Tinubu and the APC before switching to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) vice presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Ifeanyi Okowa, after reading a passage in the bible that discussed righting one’s wrongs.
Mr. Jollof made fun of Nigerians for the recent increase in petrol prices and other economic difficulties, saying he advised them to quit supporting the APC after defecting but that many people didn’t heed his advice.
He made this claim in a viral online video.
“I support Tinubu from the beginning but when I see the tigers wey dey with am and when I see the way this people say they are users,” Mr. Jollof stated in Pidgin English. The employed me. I served APC.
“But praise God, I read Luke 15:1-32 and I understood that the lost son’s story states that if you leave your father’s house but don’t live up to his splendor, you return to him. I then returned to Ifeanyi Okowa. I got a hug and a kiss from Okowa.
