Fuel subsidy removal: The time is now – Charly Boy backs Tinubu

Charles Oputa, better known by his stage name Charly Boy, is a well-known singer and social activist from Nigeria who has backed President Bola Tinubu’s decision to eliminate fuel subsidies.

The skyrocketing new pump price of petroleum products as a result of the subsidy’s elimination has sparked widespread outrage.

Currently, several regions of the country charge more than N500 per litre for Petroleum Motor Spirit, or PMS.

In response to the controversy surrounding the development, Charly Boy, a fervent fan of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the most recent election, applauded the removal and asserted that there is no better time than this.

The musician expressed his opinion in a tweet on his Twitter account, saying that the conflict goes beyond backing his favored candidate and focuses on alleged criminal groups allegedly disrupting the nation’s economy.

“Listen and be informed,” he wrote. The withdrawal of subsidies is where Okonjo Iweala bares all. The time is now because there can be no other time.

“My dear Nigerians, Obi truly isn’t the focus of this fight. It concerns the crooks who persistently take our nation’s heritage, leaving us destitute and despondent.
