Guinness World Record: Indian chef Lata Tondon speaks after Hilda Baci displaced her

When Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, nicknamed Hilda Baci, replaced her as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by one individual, Indian chef Lata Tondon responded.

According to the DAILY POST, Hilda was certified by Guinness World Records as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual on Tuesday, but they reduced her official record from the 100 hours she initially achieved to 93 hours and 11 minutes. They did this by citing the fact that “she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her breaks early on in the attempt.”

The previous record holder Tondon responded via her Instagram account on Thursday, saying she was thrilled for Hilda Baci and Nigerians.

Namaste Nigeria, she inscribed. As well as sending Hilda my best wishes, I’m overjoyed for you all.

After continuously preparing food for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019, Tondon achieved a new record.
