Zainab Balogun, a Nollywood actress, has spoken candidly about how having endometriosis affected her marriage.
Endometriosis is a condition that can result in pain, excessive bleeding, bleeding between periods, and infertility when cells from the uterus’ lining proliferate in other parts of the body.
She claimed that the condition had affected her for almost 20 years.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor revealed this.
She claimed that Dikko Nwachukwu, her husband, had helped her through her struggle with the illness.
Yes, of course [my husband was supportive], Balogun replied. You have to approach dealing with something this enormous with the village attitude, you know. You came to the realization that you would require a therapist, a backrubber, and a make-me-laugh person. Therefore, it would be challenging to complete this task by myself [without my husband’s assistance]. not even just for the bodily reasons, but also more so for the psychological and emotional reasons.
She stated, “I did not [share my wedding photos],” when asked why she didn’t post pictures from her wedding in 2018. Whoever did it is unknown to me. My make-up artist was the only one with authorization to publish one image, which was akin to a beauty photo.
“I didn’t mind at all if no one saw a picture from my wedding. My personal life is, after all, quite private. It isn’t available for public consumption because that is my life, not my work.
