Beauty Tukura, a former Big Brother Naija, BBN, reality star, has admitted that she was shocked when she was named the ‘Best Dressed Female’ at the 9th African Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA event.
Tukura claimed that she had not expected to receive a plaque and had instead assumed that she would receive a monetary prize of N500,000.
On a recent podcast, the former beauty queen made this revelation.
I believe Nigerians don’t truly understand how to appreciate reality, she remarked. I’m not sure how to describe it. In actuality, I’m only now entering the field. Never previously have I been to an AMVCA… I didn’t even know there was a tangible plaque or anything of that effect.
“I was assuming it was a N500k event, and then the next thing I know, my name is being called to come pick up an award. Even as I bent, I was attempting to disappear. He was in front of me, and it was Tobi Bakre. What are you doing, he asked. Get to your feet and enter that stage.
“I then began to move. If you noticed, I felt very uncomfortable. I moved between running and walking. I was at a loss for what to do.My reaction was shock.
