Her ex-boyfriend received a fraud sentence of four and a half years in prison. She met Adam at this time, and they began dating.

They got engaged in 2011 and married on September 29, 2012, in Big Sur, California, at an interfaith Roman Catholic and traditional Jewish wedding ceremony.
