Obasanjo only democratically elected Yoruba president – Charly Boy

Olusegun Obasanjo’s previous president, maverick artist Charles Oputa, often known as Charly Boy, has clarified something.

Obasanjo, according to Charly Boy, was the only democratically elected Yoruba leader.

“Anything you like, say about Baba,” he tweeted. He is the first Yoruba president to have ever been democratically elected, in my opinion.

Nothing will do you, Baba. I’m here for you. Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo, the president.

Obasanjo was elected president in 1999 and ruled Nigeria for eight years.

However, Bola Tinubu was chosen as president in 2023 following a heated election.

Despite his triumph, the opposition had sued to stop his rise to power.

They asserted that there was electoral fraud during the 2023 election and that Tinubu was given an unfair advantage by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
