Seun Kuti: Police reply Peter P-Square comment

On Sunday, the Lagos State Police Command responded to the criticism of Seun Kuti’s behavior made by music icon Peter Okoye (P-Square).

After his car was stopped on the Third Mainland Bridge on Saturday, the renowned Fela Kuti’s son struck a police officer.

Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, denounced the assault and gave the go-ahead for the Afrobeat star’s detention and legal action.

Peter lamented the occurrence on Twitter, claiming that Seun’s family may have been in danger, which is why there had been a fight.

“When you realize what happens when a man is forced to defend his family from any type of danger, our emotions take control,” the author writes.

He wrote, “I ask and beg the #NigerianPoliceForce to tamper justice with mercy and accept our unreserved apologies for the unfortunate outburst.”

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer in response, recommended the artist to follow suit and bear the consequences.

“Go ahead and hit the officer if you believe an unarmed, single police officer has put your family in risk (God forbid it).

Do it where you frequently go, like in Nigeria and the USA. I’m positive
