Akwa Ibomites dont eat pets but wild dogs – Actor, Bishop Umoh defends Hilda
Bishop Umoh, alias Okon, a Nollywood actor, has defended fellow Akwa Ibom native and chef Hilda Baci after she admitted to eating dog meat and faced criticism.
Jackie Idimogu, an animal rights activist and the leader of the My Dog & I organization, reportedly chastised chef Hilda for consuming dog meat and insisted that doing so constituted cruelty to animals.
Actor Umoh responded via his social media profile, stating that contrary to what had been implied, the Akwa Ibom people only eat wild dogs.
He advised the leader of the My Dog & I group to refrain from rousing the west against Hilda, who is still vying for the title of longest cooking marathon by one individual and is awaiting confirmation from Guinness World Records.
“Who is this one sef?” he wrote. Okay, madam Cl*tina, before you start provoking Hilda with western hoe, you should be aware that there is no confirmation that the meat on the table is canine.
“Second, there is nothing improper with eating dog meat, even though Akwa Ibomites and Cross Riverians do so. Wild dogs, not pets, are what they consume.
