The American music publication Billboard has featured Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, also known as Ayra Starr, in its list of the 21 Under 21 artists for this year.
On the 2023 list, which was made public on Monday via the Billboard website, the 20-year-old was the lone musician from Africa.
She reached the top of the list with 138.2 million US on-demand streaming.
The list included young people like Olivia Rodrigo, The Kid Laroi, D4vd, and Gayle.
Before her song “Rush” featured on the former US President’s 2022 end-of-year music playlist, Ayra Starr said in a recent interview that she had wished she would make Obama’s playlist someday.
