Bankole Wellington, nicknamed Banky W, a well-known Nigerian singer-turned-clergyman, appears to have addressed the accusations of dishonesty made against him.
According to DAILY POST, a contentious blog called Gistlover implied that the singer was having an affair with Niyola, a previous signee, instead of his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington.
But the rapper-turned-preacher said in a sermon to his congregation on Sunday at the Waterbrooks church in Lagos that the rumors were spread by satanic forces who didn’t want his followers to hear his sermon.
He assured his congregation that God was in charge while stating that the devil is a liar.
The devil really didn’t want you to hear this message, the speaker declared. He actually didn’t want us to participate in this series in any way. At first there was an onslaught, but now we are. However, the devil lies. God is also in charge.
In his sermon on the subject of “The Prison Of Pornography,” Banky W thanked his wife Adesua for helping him through his battle with a porn addiction.
He pointed at Adesua and remarked, “If I don’t thank God for anything in my life, I thank God for this woman.”
