Olanipekun Olatubosun, better known by his stage name TROD, is a native Nigerian artist and the brother of the deceased rapper Dagrin. He has stated that he is not aware of any earnings associated with his song.
This comes after a recent video of Dagrin’s mother pleading for assistance from Nigerians appeared online.
Nigerians on social media criticized Trod in response to the viral video, accusing him of surreptitiously making money off of Dagrin’s song sales while his family was struggling.
On his official Twitter account, Trod responded to the claim by saying he was not aware of the royalties from Dagin’s work.
In a tweet from almost 13 years ago, he called out the person who received his late brother’s music royalties, writing: “I dont shit about Grins Royalties. It’s time for the person who has been paid for 13 years to come forward. DMCE anything.
According to DAILY POST, Dagrin passed away on April 22, 2010, following a horrifying car accident in Lagos.
