I was so broke, I had to close my account – Singer Joeboy on bankruptcy

Joeboy, a stage name for Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, a Nigerian singer, has talked openly about having to battle with bankruptcy at one point in his career.

He claimed that after becoming famous, he eventually lost his footing and filed for bankruptcy.

This was revealed by the ‘Cubana’ singer during a recent interview with Dose Of Society.

He declared, “I’m currently one of the biggest African artists, but there was a period when I was at my lowest point. I lacked any cash. I had to close my [bank] account since I was so broke.

“I just want to utilize this tale as inspiration for everyone who is currently struggling. Don’t try to end the situation. Improvement is always possible. That much is true. I serve as a prime example.

In the past two years, Joeboy has reportedly spent almost N50 million on his girlfriend, according to DAILY POST.

He claimed he was unsure of the amount and added that it might be much higher.
