Kim Mulkey is not presently married or even engaged. She therefore lacks a husband or fiancé. She was formerly married to Randy Robertson, with whom she has two children, thus she does, however, have an ex-husband. Having been married for 19 years, they got divorced in 2006.

American collegiate basketball coach and former player Kim Mulkey is 61 years old. She is well-known for her work as the women’s basketball team’s head coach at Louisiana State University, where she has received numerous trophies and honors. Kim Mulkey Was Once Married

Kim Mulkey was once a married woman but is now divorced. She and her ex-husband, Randy Robertson, met in 1987 and married the same year. They met when they were both attending Louisiana Tech University. Although the exact year they started dating is not publicly known, it is known that Kim and Randy exchanged marital vows in 1987.

Three years into their marriage, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Makenzie Fuller and in 1994, they gave birth to their second child, a son Kramer Robertson. Makenzie and Kramer are now 33 and 29 years old respectively.

Kim admitted that parenthood initially got her overwhelmed but she tried her best to strike a balance between motherhood and her career and subsequently adapted to the responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Mulkey’s ex-husband, Randy Robertson, is best known for being the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback from 1974 to 1975. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Louisiana Tech University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising from The University of Alabama.

Randy Robertson is a top member of boards of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, the Waco Chamber of Commerce, and the AAF Waco.

Kim and Her Husband Divorced in 2006

The couple was perceived to be living happily together and their marriage sailing smoothly but that was until late 2005 when Kim found out they had gradually fallen miles apart. In January 2006, her husband of 19 years opened up that he was going to be moving out of their home. According to Kim, this gave her the biggest shock and shattered her life.

In light of this and in a bid to save their marriage, they together reached out to a marriage counselor in Dallas. But sadly, nothing still worked and they ultimately divorced in late 2006 and went their separate ways. As long as she was married to Robertson, Kim was known as Kim Mulkey-Robertson, she dropped Robertson following their divorce.

Speaking to The Advocate in 2020, Kim Mulkey revealed that she was fully ready to give up anything, including her coaching career and all her professional endeavors just to ensure her marriage with Randy Robertson worked, but unfortunately, things weren’t working out. So, she had no further option than to give up.

To date, neither Randy nor Kim revealed what exactly led to their divorce. “The divorce is the most devastating thing to happen in my life”, Mulkey told The Dallas Morning News in March 2012. According to her, the man with whom she shares two children and vowed to spend the rest of her life suddenly turned into a stranger.

Is Kim Mulkey Engaged?

Kim Mulkey is not presently dating anyone. This hasn’t stopped many from wondering if she’s engaged, though. For many years, rumors have been circulating that the former footballer is engaged and in a relationship. It all began when a source claimed she got engaged to an unidentified man.

While the news was still trying to be verified, another source reported that it was her ex-husband, Randy Robertson, that she got engaged to, but there is no truth in this. Those who believe and rumor that she is in a relationship and engaged might have come to that conclusion given that it has been many years ago she and her ex-husband got divorced, and since then she has not given a hint about her love life.

Also, considering her flourishing career, it is not hard to see the reason many conclude that she certainly would be in a relationship. However, she is not, after all. In an interview she granted some time in 2022, Mulkey herself addressed the rumors and confirmed that she is single. She categorically said that ever since her divorce, she has not dated any man not to talk of getting engaged.

She did not stop there though, but went further to explain that she has had several opportunities of being in a relationship but her focus has always been on her two children, as she does not want any man to distract her from them. Furthermore, Kim maintained that she is not lonely, but completely happy and content.

The mother of two went on to add that she is wholly devoted to her career and children. “I don’t need a man to support me. Relationships are work”, she concluded.

Kim Mulkey Has Two Grown-up Children

Meanwhile, Kim’s two children are now all grown. Her daughter, Makenzie, played both basketball and softball for Baylor and is currently an assistant coach on her mother’s staff. She married her husband, Clay Fuller, a professional football wide receiver in July 2015 and together they have a son named Kannon.

On the other hand, her son, Kramer Robertson, is a professional baseball infielder in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He attended Louisiana State University where he played college baseball for the LSU Tigers.

Kim Mulkey has continued to be successful and relevant in the world of basketball despite the many difficulties she faced while attempting to reconcile her job and personal life. She has won numerous trophies and accolades throughout the years as a result of her effort, passion, and dedication to the sport, including three national championships with Baylor University.

At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Mulkey led the USA women’s basketball team to a gold medal. On and off the court, she has inspired many people with her powerful leadership abilities and feisty demeanor.
