P-Square Mr P accuses Lagos police of complicity in violence against Igbo
Peter Okoye, also known by his stage as Mr. P, has accused the Lagos State Police Command of remaining silent about the violence committed against the Igbo during the state’s recently concluded elections.
On Sunday, Mr. P used his Twitter account to ask for forgiveness on behalf of Grammy-nominated afrobeat musician Seun Kuti, who was wanted for allegedly attacking a police officer in uniform in a widely circulated video.
He had asserted that Kuti most likely attacked the policeman because his family was under danger.
In response to his tweet, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos State Police, challenged the musician to smack an unarmed lone police officer whenever he believes his family is in danger and use the same defense for Kuti that he is using for himself.
Mr P was not pleased with his response and said, “Wow! And you responded so quickly. For the record, we are still aware of how silent you were throughout the elections over the overall threat to the Igbos in Lagos.
We are watching, and so is the rest of the world! We are all doing fine, las las.
