Rema Calm Down becomes first song to spend one year on US Billboard chart
Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, a Nigerian artist, has made history with his collaboration with Selena Gomez on the song “Calm Down,” which spent a whole year at the top of the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs list.
This was announced on Monday by American data collection business Chart Data.
The song topped the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs list for 52 weeks.
On the Billboard Hot 100 main list, it peaked at number three, and it also peaked at number one on the Canadian Top Songs chart.
According to DAILY POST, Rema’s song “Calm Down” set a world record for being the first No. 1 hit on The Official MENA Chart, the first regional streaming chart ever.
On November 29, 2022, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) introduced the MENA Chart, with “Calm Down” debuting at No. 1.
