Claims that Chuba Akpom wants to leave Middlesbrough of the Sky Bet Championship have been refuted.
The remaining year of Akpom’s contract with Michael Carrick’s team is one year.
The 27-year-old drew people’s attention last season after leading the Championship in goals scored with 26.
The forward, who was born in Nigeria, also took home Player of the Year honors.
Akpom claimed he is content at the Teesside and is ready to sign a new deal.
He told the Northern Echo, “Yeah, of course (I want to stay).
“I’ve made it clear that I feel at home here, so I think my saying that shows that I would love to stay.”
