Transfer: Aubameyang reaches agreement to leave Chelsea, new club revealed
According to RMC, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has decided to quit Chelsea and join Marseille.
The 34-year-old has had a terrible time with the Blues since moving there in a £12 million trade from Barcelona last September.
Aubameyang joined just days before Thomas Tuchel, with whom he had a close bond when they worked together at Borussia Dortmund, was fired. Tuchel went on to score just three goals in 21 games after Aubameyang’s arrival.
Graham Potter later removed him from Chelsea’s Champions League roster.
Aubameyang was reportedly considering moving to Saudi Arabia, but he now wants to settle back in France.
The former captain of Arsenal has already signed a two-year deal with Marseille that includes a third-season option.
The Ligue 1 team is currently in negotiations with the Blues to persuade them to grant the striker a free transfer.
