Why I boycott Headies Award – Rapper Erigga

Erhiga Agarivbie, also known as Erigga, is a Nigerian hip-hop musician who claims he began to boycott the Headies Awards after his 2020 album ‘The Erigma II’ came in last in the Best Rap Album category at the 14th iteration of the awards ceremony.

He charged that the Headies’ organizers had disregarded South-South performers.

Following the announcement of the 16th Headies nominations on Wednesday, Erigga made the accusations via his Twitter account.

Despite putting out an album, “The Lost Boy,” in the year under consideration, the rapper from Warri failed to garner any nominations.

Erigga posted the artwork for his next album ‘The Erigma II’ on Twitter with the caption: “Na from here I dun take boycott all these f*ckers (Headies) the disrespect was too much for the south south to accept… F*ck you and all you stand for if you don’t like us and won’t appreciate our profession, end of story.
