Bolaji Amusan, often known as Mr. Latin, the president of the Theatre Arts and Movies Production Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN, has explained why the organization won’t assist some struggling performers in the film industry.
Mr. Latin said that the group is always willing to assist and revealed that it had spent more than N10 million on health issues affecting actors.
Mr. Latin alleged that the group cannot help some of its ailing members since they are inactive during a recent interview on 32FM in Ibadan.
He clarified that these unwell performers frequently avoid approaching TAMPAN for assistance out of embarrassment and instead turn to the internet, radio, or television because they are aware that they are not active members and that the organisation cannot help them.
“We constantly assist all members who are actively participating. We have spent more than N10 million on the actors’ medical issues since I became the TAMPAN President.
The people that you hear or see pleading for money on the radio or television are not actually members of the association.
