All political appointees under Samuel Ortom’s administration have been fired by Rev Father Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State.
The appointees have been told to take over to the most senior civil workers in their various departments, according to the governor’s chief press secretary, Mr. Tersoo Kula, who revealed this to journalists in Makurdi on Thursday.
Kula claims that the choice was made following Governor Alia’s unannounced visits to MDAs over the previous three days, during which time he discovered significant deterioration and inefficiency in the administration of public utilities.
The governor visited numerous government sites unannounced on Tuesday, according to DAILY POST, and expressed displeasure with several of the appointees.
