Veteran Nollywood actress Uche Jombo has stated that those who falsely accuse someone of rape should receive the same punishment as those who actually commit rape.
The former Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy, who was accused of raping a lady and trying to rape another, was recently found not guilty. The thespian made this statement in light of the decision.
Jombo posted on Twitter, “False rape accusations should attract the same jail term as rape.”
According to DAILY POST, a jury at Chester Crown Court cleared Man City defender Benjamin Mendy of rape and attempted rape on Friday.
Due to the trials, Mendy was unable to participate in City’s historic treble of the English Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League last season.
