FEC Okays N129.8bn for further remediation work on Ogoni cleanup, water scheme

Over N129 billion was agreed during the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, which Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presided over. This money will be used to remediate the newly discovered hydrocarbon-impacted areas along Ogoniland’s shorelines.

The Shehu Shagari way’s complete scope of development has also received contract permissions from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCT).

The presidential spokesman claims that it was given away for N91 billion. While another one was for N5.7 billion to upgrade the Rubochi-Gwagwada route and repair the roads in the Rubochi municipality.

“Council also authorized a N1.6 billion contract for the development of a 3.2 km road going to the Kwali Bridge in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

Another FCT contract, worth N28 billion, is for the provision of engineering infrastructure in Guzape District plot II of the FCT and represents a revised estimate of cost, the official disclosed.
