David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian artist who has expressed happiness at receiving a national honor from the Federal Government.
Davido was one of the 339 notable Nigerians named by the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs as beneficiaries of the 2023 national honors on Sunday, according to DAILY POST.
The musician responded to the news on Wednesday (today) via his Twitter account and expressed his gratitude for the acknowledgment.
He wrote: “Honored to hear that the Federal Government of Nigeria has bestowed upon me the title of Officer of the Order of Nigeria.
“I appreciate the honor and commendation. My goal has always been to use my platform to highlight everything that is great about our nation, including our citizens’ enthusiasm, resiliency, joy, culture, and, of course, their struggles. None of this is something I take for granted. We shall keep doing everything it takes to improve Nigeria because there is only one Nigeria.
