Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has discussed her emotions after learning that her husband, Bankole Wellington, alias Banky W, intended to enter politics.
According to DAILY POST, Banky W declared his intention to contest for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Modern Democratic Party on November 11, 2018.
On February 23, 2019, Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress defeated him in the election for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
In the 2023 elections, he ran for the same seat under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but fell short of Attah Thaddeus of the Labour Party (LP).
Adesua admitted that when the artist announced his plans to get involved in politics, she was initially “worried” and “disturbed” in an interview with Hip TV.
However, she claimed that she ultimately made the decision to back him because “purpose is more important than fear.”
When Banky announced his intention to enter politics, she remarked, “I was a little concerned and bothered about it.
“However, I likewise think that purpose is more significant than fear. And I want to see him accomplish his goals. Therefore, he has my full backing.
