Inauguration of new Cross River Gov: Funds not yet released to planning c ttee – Ndoma-Egba
Money for the planning committee has not yet been released, less than a week before Prof. Ben Ayade would pass over control of Cross River State to Prince Bassey Otu.
Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, the chairman of the inauguration committee and a former Senate leader, talked on Sparkling FM’s premier morning chat show, “Let’s Talk Nigeria,” but he also expressed optimism that the money will soon be released to his committee.
Despite the circumstances, he claimed, the various subcommittees have since begun working to make sure the installation of the new governor goes off without a hitch.
He claims that the subcommittees are made up of competent individuals from the state.
“We have urged the vendors, who are themselves not newcomers to the state, to begin acts while we are still waiting for the allocation of funds to enable my committee to prepare for the inauguration of the next governor.
“We are moving forward with the required actions. We communicate with the chief of the judiciary, security, and decorators.
We divided into subcommittees and held our sessions.
We collaborate with other independent committees as well. It is anticipated that the ceremony, which is taking place at U.J. Esuene Stadium, won’t last more than 10 to 15 minutes. The pledge of loyalty is the main focus of the celebration.
The former majority leader of the senate also promised that his team had persuaded the appropriate government agencies to ensure rubbish removal and general cleanliness of the city since dignitaries and other guests would be arriving in Calabar to attend the inauguration.
We are aware that Calabar has traditionally been a clean, green city, and that there are government organizations tasked with preserving that status.
The next governor’s inauguration would draw dignitaries to the city, so we are urging them to complete the job quickly, he added.
