The tragic death of well-known actor and producer Murphy Afolabi has prompted reactions from some Nollywood actors.

Afolabi reportedly passed away on Sunday morning after collapsing in the bathroom of his home in Ikorodu, Lagos.

Popular Nollywood actor and director Tunde Ola Yusuf shared the sad news on Sunday afternoon on Facebook with the following message: “REST IN PEACE. May God grant the family and close friends the strength to deal with the loss.

In response to the news, performers like Ibrahim Chatta, Odunlade Adekola, Wumi Toriola, Olaniyi Afonja, Muyiwa Ademola, and others posted images of the deceased with sobbing emojis to convey their feelings on social media.

It was “truly a black Sunday,” as noted Yoruba actor and producer Ibrahim Chatta put it. Peace be with you, Murphy Afláb.

Wumi Toriola, a writer, added: “Oh My God. Dead is Murphy Afolabi.

We recently celebrated your birthday, so the actress Dayo Amusa expressed her shock and sadness at the unfortunate news. Nsunkun Oku Oku. Death is painful and ruthless. He may rest in peace, I pray.

“It’s so shocking to hear the death of my wonderful friend Murphy Afolabi,” said Olaniyi Afonja, also known as Sanyeri. I ask that God watch over his surviving family. Murphy May you rest in peace.

According to Odunlade Adekola, “Jesus Christ. Murphy was lost.

“This is sad news,” wrote Muyiwa Ademola. Sunday is a dark day. An eerie one! Simply put, I’m afraid. Murphy Afolabi, please rest in peace.
