David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a well-known Afrobeat artist who has detailed the detrimental effects of his celebrity on his loved ones.
Davido disclosed this information while acknowledging the benefits of fame.
The musician said that, while he appreciates the benefits of fame, it has had a lot of negative effects on his daughter and family on a recent episode of the ABtalks podcast.
I would be lying if I claimed I didn’t enjoy celebrity, but it has its advantages and disadvantages. I can have everything I want, but it can be stressful since it interferes with my family’s and my private life.
“My kid was being tormented at school even though she wasn’t the target. Thus, celebrity has both positive and negative aspects.
“When they knew the kids were my nieces/nephews, it was weird because of how people treated them, so my sister had to move her kids out of school,” my sister said. “Now they are in different schools, and when they know they are related to me it is always crazy.”
