Nollywood actress and media personality Toke Makinwa has expressed her devastation after learning that her estranged husband, Maje Ayida, had an unplanned pregnancy with a former flame.
She claimed to have found out about it nine months into the pregnancy.
On the most recent episode of her YouTube vlog series, Toke Moments, the actress made this statement.
“I remember walking into the [radio] studio, and like 7am the World News goes on. And there is a call from the owner of the radio station, and he is like, ‘everyone is talking about you, I don’t want to get into it but people are thinking you would literally fall apart. I think you need to go home.”
She said she could cope with work because she learnt earlier “to leave her feelings at the door and then pick them up when you are on your way home. So, once you walk into the studio, it’s not about you. It’s about the millions of people who are trying to make their ways to work; they are the ones who are tuning in expecting to get entertained, informed, and on top of what is going in the world.”
“I can still picture entering the [radio] studio at around 7 a.m. and hearing the World News. The radio station owner then calls and says, “Everyone is talking about you. I don’t want to get into it, but people are thinking you would literally fall apart.” I believe you should return home.
She claimed that she was able to handle her job because she had previously discovered how to “leave her feelings at the door and pick them up when you are on your way home.” Therefore, once you enter the studio, it isn’t about you. It’s about the millions of people attempting to get jobs; they are the ones tuning in with the expectation.
