The 10th National Assembly, according to Representative Sergius Ogun, will be a “Rubber stamp Promax.”
In an interview with Channels Television that DAILY POST watched on Monday, Ogun, a former member of the ad hoc committee on petroleum downstream and representative of the Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in Edo state, revealed this.
He thinks it is regrettable that the APC attempts to impose itself as the National Assembly’s leader.
He claimed that the circumstance will serve as the National Assembly’s independence’s final funeral.
By adding names to the National Assembly Leadership’s registry, he claimed, “Promax would be rubber-stamped.”
Godswill Akpabio and Abbass Tajudeen, the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, were approved as candidates for Senate President and House Speaker, respectively, according to a statement released by the APC’s press secretary Felix Morka earlier this month.
Party members who are interested in filling the seats, however, have openly expressed their discontent.
Following the swearing-in of the new administration on May 29, 2023, the leadership of the 10 National Assembly would be inaugurated in June.
