PRODA inches towards producing Made-in-Nigeria battery
In order to produce batteries made in Nigeria, Projects Development Institute, PRODA, Enugu, a federal government institution, has started researching lithium ion batteries.
When he met the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Enugu State Correspondents’ Chapel who paid him a courtesy visit, PRODA Director-General Dr. Peter Ogbobe revealed this.
Among other things, the lithium ion battery can be used for laptops, inverters, and phones.
Ogbobe stated that the organization was looking into developing its own formula to create lithium ion batteries in order to decrease imports and save some foreign cash for the nation.
He acknowledged that granite deposits in Nigeria are sufficient.
Since taking over last year, the PRODA, DG has started a number of projects, and he has stated that his goal is to restore the Institute’s former splendor.
“PRODA is a well-known brand. I have an excellent management group. Our goal is to modify the storyline in PRODA.
“I want people to know PRODA is back in operation, and our primary mission is research. We’re attempting to alter the system, the speaker said.
Ogbobe had already received praise from Comrade Lawrence Njoku, Chairman of the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel, for starting a lot of projects at the Institute quickly.
Njoku credited Ogbobe’s well-focused leadership for what he called the real progress made by PRODA.
“PRODA is currently making significant development, and this is due to the focused leadership that you installed.
“You came here to increase output. In PRODA, there are signs that activity has begun, the speaker said.
