Tinubu inauguration: Police beef up security in FCT, announces traffic diversions
The Federal Capital Territory’s FCT Police Command reports that it has distributed personnel and material resources across the territory’s nooks and crannies to guarantee that the event is secure and peaceful in advance of the presidential inauguration slated for Monday, May 29.
The deployment, which consists of all intelligence and tactical assets at the command’s disposal and is supported by inter-agency cooperation, was prompted by the need to “avert any form of threat on the nation’s democratic process,” according to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, on Friday morning.
The strategic operational deployment is described in the PPRO as “being characterized by visibility police across the area, stop and search duty, intelligence-led raids on black spots, surveillance, vehicular/foot patrol, and diversions at strategic points, namely:

According to her, Haruna G. Garba, the FCT command’s commissioner of police, also informed the public about planned fireworks to bring in the new administration at the City Gate and the Millennium Tower on the eve of the inauguration.
The police chief urged the public not to panic and stated that it is anticipated that Messrs. Innate Arts and Media will perform the fireworks.
