Some ministries that the incoming Bola Tinubu administration should take into consideration unbundling have been identified by Dr. Sam Amadi, a former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, or NERC.
According to DAILY POST, the incoming Buhari administration changed key federal agencies when it took office in 2019. Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development; Police Affairs, Special Duties, and International Affairs; Aviation and Power; and the Ministry of Information and Culture make up the ministries.
The Aviation Ministry was a division of the Transportation Ministry under the previous government of former President Goodluck Jonathan, while the Power Ministry was formerly a division of the Ministry of Power, Works, and Housing.
According to Amadi, the Ministry of Works and Housing should be separated while the Ministry of Energy, which should include Power and Petroleum, should be established.
According to Amadi, the Ministry of National Reconciliation and Integration should prioritize social justice and national integration and be considered by Tinubu’s administration.
The Ministry of Housing and Works should be separated, says the social analyst, because housing is a crucial component that Nigeria’s growth of its human capital is missing.
“The Ministry of Power and Petroleum has to be revamped. I believe that everything related to gas and gas transportation should be powered once again. Yar’adua brought forward the idea of including gas transportation in power because of our reliance on hydrocarbons.

“We require the establishment of a Ministry of National Reconciliation and Integration, which ought to place a greater emphasis on social justice, national integration, and inclusiveness.
“Labor and productivity: There should be a Ministry of Employment and Entrepreneurship that will concentrate on the development of the new sectors we need to grow the economy instead of the old cultural ways of ministry doing transactions. Innovative ministry definitions should be used so that people can immediately identify them as being created for a specific purpose. You can infer from the name that they would acquire knowledge and abilities.
“I believe that the Ministry of Social and Human Development should be established in its place of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
