2023 International Youth Day: Ogun partners AGDC to train Youths on Solar Panel Installation

As part of the celebrations for this year’s International Youth Day, the Ogun State Government and the Afterschool Graduate Development Center (AGDC) plan to train more than 500 youths in the installation and sale of solar panels between August 25 and September 1 in all three senatorial districts.

The focus on Solar Panel Installation and Sales was chosen to align with this year’s International Youth Day theme, which is “Green Skills For Youth Towards a Sustainable World,” according to a statement signed by the project manager, Mr. Abiola Odetola, and a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday.

The statement went on to say that the programs were also designed to help accomplish SDG Goals 7—Affordable Clean Energy—and 8—Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Therefore, it encouraged young people in the state who are unemployed and between the ages of 18 and 40 to take advantage of the chance, which will make it possible for them to gain the necessary skills for an internship with a solar company. Succeeding trainees will also receive free start-up kits.

According to the press release, you can register for the free training at http://bit.ly/ogsgsolartraing.
