BET Awards: Burna Boy named Best International Act for record fourth time

Burna Boy, a well-known musician from Nigeria, won the “Best International Act” prize at the 2023 BET Awards, which took place on Sunday night in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Last Last’ crooner battled French vocalist Aya Nakamura, British singers Ella Mai, Stormzy, and Central Cee, as well as his native Ayra Starr to win the prize.

Burna Boy’s achievement increased his record for receiving the most awards in the “Best International Act” category of the BET Awards (4).

According to DAILY POST, Burna Boy received the honor in 2019 and again in 2020 and 2021.

Davido was the first winner of the BET Awards’ “Best International Act” category, which was introduced in 2018 and has since only been won by Nigerians.

Tems, a rising sensation in Nigerian music, was named “Best International Act” the previous year.

Asake, a Nigerian artist, last night lost the “Best New International” prize to Libianca, a Cameroonian singer.
