In his list of current Nigerian music legends, Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, aka Davido, left out renowned producer and singer-turned-music entrepreneur Don Jazzy.
However, he included D’banj, Don Jazzy’s former business partner at Mo’hit Records, on his list of the “OGs” of the Nigerian music industry.
While participating in the most recent audiovisual podcast episode of Bootleg Kev, Davido revealed the list.
The pioneers of contemporary Nigerian music, he responded, “Definitely D’banj. He was one of the artists I observed as a young person. D’banj and 2 FaceThe Big 3 back then were D’banj, 2Face, and P-Square, a set of twins. They were our pioneers. They were the ones who made it possible for this to happen.
