Swash hosted the CBBC Channel’s children’s show Gimme A Break 2011. Swash and Caroline Flack were team captains on the ITV2 game program Minute to Win It in 2011.

With Swash as presenter/narrator, Driving Academy debuted on the CBBC Channel in November 2011. Celebrity Driving Academy, a completely new series starring celebrities, premiered in 2014.

Swash began dating Stacey Solomon in January 2016 after meeting on I’m a Celebrity some years ago. In 2019, the couple had announced they were expecting their first child together, which would join Swash’s son and Solomon’s two children. 

After five years of dating, Swash and Solomon got engaged on December 24, 2020. In July 2021, the couple revealed they were expecting a baby girl.

Swash was on the verge of abandoning his dream of being an actor until he landed a role in BBC One’s EastEnders. In April 2003, he made his first appearance in EastEnders as Mickey Miller.

On the 19th and 20th of September 2011, Joe resumed his role as Mickey Miller for two episodes to coincide with his on-screen brother’s exit from the soap.
