Ayo Makun, aka AY, a well-known comedian and director, has said that his late mother’s final words of wisdom to him before she died had a profound impact on his life.
He disclosed this while appearing as a guest on the most recent Nancy Isime Show broadcast.
The multi-talented entertainer recalled his final encounter with his deceased mother and the sage advice she gave him, advising him to be responsible and look after his younger brothers.
After their parents went away, AY claimed he saw himself and his siblings, including well-known event planner Lanre Makun and well-known fashion designer Yomi “Casual” Makun, through school.
“I needed money for school, so I went home to ask for it, but there was no money there. After then, my dad had passed away. My mother was supporting me as she nearly walked me down the street to say goodbye. You know Yomi and Lanre are looking up to you, the woman added. Your younger family members admire you. Don’t go out and do anything foolish, and stay away from cults.
But despite the fact that they never give me any of the money I uncover, they still support me. I understand that it’s challenging, but please remember that your younger children look up to you. Don’t do anything foolish. God will complete it when it is time.
“Do you realize how affecting it will be to receive all of those messages from your mother and then receive a call while you’re at school informing you that she has passed away?
“So, all of it shaped me in the sense that, all right, this is going to shape how I live. That is what motivated me to put in extra effort to finish school and see my younger children through as well.
She had sent a message. She was saying something along the lines of, “Your younger ones are looking up to you.” My foundation for everything that makes me unique today was laid by that message.
